An affordable offering for universities to responsibly bring AI to campus.

ChatGPT Education

We’re announcing ChatGPT Edu, a version of ChatGPT built for universities to responsibly deploy AI to students, faculty, researchers, and campus operations. Powered by GPT‑4o, ChatGPT Edu can reason across text and vision and use advanced tools such as data analysis. The offering includes enterprise-level security and controls and is designed to be affordable for educational institutions.

We built ChatGPT Edu because universities including the University of Oxford, Wharton, the University of Texas at Austin, Arizona State University, and Columbia University were finding success with ChatGPT Enterprise.

How campuses use ChatGPT today

ChatGPT can support personalized tutoring, resume review, grant applications, grading, and feedback. University partners are making AI available to students, faculty, researchers, and campus operations. Examples include Columbia’s work using a GPT to synthesize large datasets for overdose-prevention interventions, Wharton course reflections through conversations with a GPT trained on course materials, and Arizona State University’s custom Language Buddies GPT for German learners.
